For his part, Minister of Health, Juan Mansur, said: “Today is a joyous day for health in Argentina. With the enactment and promulgation of the National Law No. 24,044 Snuff Control, Argentines are winning quality of life, but more importantly, we are creating better conditions for the healthy development of future generations. “
“No other measure could be more cost-effective way to prevent illness and death in our country to put limits on the use of snuff, the enemy of our people,” he said.
He added that “this rule is the result of persistent works of the Ministry of Health of the Nation, clearly intensified since 2003, the beginning of our political project. It is also the product of militant actions of dozens of social organizations and scientific societies that struggled for community awareness about the harmful effects of consumption of snuff. “
